To remove the steering wheel, there are small holes on either side of the wheel just below the paddles. Howard inserted a metal pin in the holes to depress tabs holding the horn/airbag in so they can be removed. A small allen wrench could be used as well.
Once the tabs are released the horn/airbag slides right out.
What a mess, our interior is all ripped up!
Howard removes the nut holding the old leather wheel to the steering shaft. A little back and forth rocking and the steering wheel pops off.
Here are the steering wheels compared. The stock leather covered wheel is on the left, the new competition wheel is on the right.
Howard installs the new steering wheel in the reverse order of removing it.
