Project E46 M3: Part 2 – Cat-back Exhaust and Pulleys

This picture has special meaning to me because it shows my wife’s college car (how old must she be??!!) in its final resting place.  It passed away and I literally coasted the MX-3 to the shop at 221K miles.  Sitting behind was her next car until November of 2012, when I picked up our Project E46 M3.  The red sedan was our two-baby hauler (but now we have three). The E36 M3 made over 260whp all-motor.  It was sold last November to a local friend and is still sitting pretty at nearly 190k miles.  Can anyone guess what magazine this car was built as a project in?

Here’s our own Project Supra.  It finally got its new TEIN suspension and it will be getting its engine installed and tuned any day now.  There is some custom fabrication work yet to be done, including fitting the ETS intercooler piping to the Hypertune intake manifold, and the PT6766 turbo with a new 4-in downpipe.  I promise to give it a rain wash when it’s finished.

On any given day you’ll see an assortment of boy-toy racers at MKC, like the Chevy Cobalt SS, Subaru STi, or Mitsubishi Evo.  In between the red Cobalt and black STi you can make out the nose of the shop’s own E36 M3, which is turbocharged to around to a quick-spooling 500whp.

Seeing one of these RX-7 twin turbos is increasingly rare.

Here is one of the shop’s own RX-3s, which ran a 7.60 at 190mph just a couple of weekends prior.  That’s psycho power.
