After a lot of test fitting, we found a combination that connects the 4” downpipe to the 3-4” Vibrant Transition Adapter (P/N: 2632) that was tack welded to the 3.5” Vibrant V-band Clamp (P/N: 1492)
We finish welded a few segments and tack welded the others and were ecstatic that everything lined up. While this was difficult, it was nowhere near as difficult as recirculating the wastegates back into the downpipe.
We were pretty satisfied with the routing of the exhaust. We maximized the clearance to the chassis, crossmember, and transmission, while keeping the exhaust tucked up and on the same plane as the rest of the car.
The SP Muffler’s 3.5” FD RX-7 Resonator, Vibrant 304 stainless steel exhaust and V-band clamps, and our fabricated exhaust hangers all turned out to be a very clean installation.
Back at TSR Fabrication, Mario cut out a hole in the downpipe where the wastegates would tie back in to.
After the hole was created with the plasma cutter, it was opened up and cleaned up with a flap wheel.

Billy, the exhaust looks fantastic. Every update gets us close to the full reveal of this monster!
Thank you! I’m a bit behind on articles so there will be more updates that will come out soon. The car is close to firing up!
I see you’re also a glutton for punishment wrenching on cars while laying on our backs, ha! Excited to see this up and running with all the extensive and detailed work on it.
