The stock turbo to intecooler pipe is pretty restrictive looking.
The Cobb charge pipe on top is a lot larger in diameter and less kinked than the stock part on the bottom.
The charge pipe is all hard pipe except the silicon couplers on the turbo and intercooler. Positive holding T-Bolt clamps are used instead of worm gear clamps. Hard pipes often give more power than flexible pipes when all else is equal because all of the compressor's power is used to move air instead of stretch elastic hose. Seems hard to believe but we have measured these sorts of gains time and time again in many different applications.
Despite its many bends and having to snake through tight places in the chassis, the inlet charge pipe fit perfectly.
Likewise the intercooler to throttle body pipe fit perfectly even though it had many bends and has to worm its way around the engine compartment.
You can see just exactly how tight the fits are right here. There is no contact, no rattles and no having to cheat the hard pipes with the couplers. We were impressed with the quality of the intercooler kit, its precise fit and ease of installation.
