Since our car engine is designed to use a dead headed fuel system our pump and regulator are plumbed with a short return loop. Everything in under the car and tucked up to where it won’t easily be damaged but still way below the fuel level in the cell for long life of components, particularly the pump. Our fuel system has Aeromotive pre and post pump filters and everything is plumed with Earl’s AN fittings. One fitting has a tap off to make sampling the fuel or draining the tank easy. The wiring is nice and clean as well.
A mountune stainless downpipe is used from the turbo to the exhaust system.
The mountune downpipe feeds into this 3″ thinwall 304 stainless exhaust fabricated by SPD from Vibrant tubing and fittings.
The exhaust uses factory hangers. You can see how the hanger goes all the way around the pipe to avoid cracking.
A Vibrant quick release V-Band clamp makes removal of the exhaust quick and easy.
The exhaust takes advantage of all of the factory heat shielding and exits at the rear of the car. There is no muffler as the turbo itself gets rid of a lot of the excessive noise. The exhaust flows much better and saves over 20 lbs from the car.

There is still lots of work to get the weight down to 2300 lbs the fist fighting weight, I think once the weight goes down he will be able to come out on top of the Hondas with his ecoboost 1.6 litre engine and six speed 3.82 rear sets should be right in the ball park of the Hondas. If he could loose another 400 lb’s then he could be more than competitive. With a car that handles flat around corners. A limited slip differential up front would be icing on the cake.
How did you get the tubes through the dash vents? Is the dash split and you can spread the vent hole around the tube? Nice touch for sure!
