These photos illustrate the difference in surface texture between the pressure cast inner wheel structure, and the cold rolled wheel rim.  As always, Enkei’s machining is absolutely perfect.

Generally, wheels don’t need installation notes.  However, as I’m sure everyone has realized by now, Project Hypermiler has a couple of considerations for even a simple wheel swap.  First, the stock lug bolts are ball seat, where the Enkei uses a cone seat lug.

Note that the stock lug bolts are ball seat, where the Enkei wheels need cone seat lug bolts.  These were sourced from your friendly local Discount Tire.  DO NOT use the stock ball seat lug bolts unless you like to watch your wheels pass you.

The second caveat has to do with the fact that VW, like many European vehicles, uses lug bolts instead of lug nuts.  Since there are no lug studs for the wheel to rest on while the fasteners are threaded on by hand, a hubcentric spacer is a mandatory part to keep your sanity when installing the wheels.
