Project S550 Part 3: Looking Better with Wide Project6gr Seven Wheels, Cervinis Ram Air Hood, AirDesign Front Fascia & More!

,

These wheels are rotary forged so, even through we dramatically increased the size of both the rim and tire, we actually saved weight over the stock 19 inch Performance Package wheels from Ford. The Project6gr Seven wheels are specifically designed for the S550 chassis to allow the largest tire possible without rubbing. This extra attention to detail will come in very handy as we begin to build more power in future updates.

The Project6gr specs:
Front: 20×10 +35mm Continental Extreme DW 275/35/20; complete wheel package weighs in at 56.7 lbs. vs. the stock set-up of 60.8 lbs.
Rear: 20×11 +50mm Continental Extreme DW 315/35/20; 59.5 lbs. vs. 63.9 lbs.

Moving on to the rear, we once again visited AirDesign to pick up a rear spoiler they offer for 2015-and-newer Mustangs. This spoiler offers a similar silhouette to the Ford Performance track pack spoiler, but is slightly larger and more aggressive. Again keeping our overall aesthetic goals in mind, we opted to leave the spoiler in a matte black finish.

The spoiler perfectly complements the lines of the car. As an added benefit, there’s no drilling required, so if we change our minds later, we can go back to the blank trunk with no issues.

To finish off the rear of the car, we ordered a Ford Performance blank rear deck lid as well as the quad-tip exhaust and rear valance kit from Levittown Ford. These two subtle changes help give the car a much more intimidating look from the back. The exhaust is actually identical to the Borla S-type kit we installed in Part 1.

To run the quad-tip valance, we needed to change out the muffler section of the exhaust, but the sound and performance remains exactly the same.
