We chose an electric style valve rather than a manual valve since we will not be mounting our Accusump in an easily accessible location. All the necessary switches and wiring are included with this option.
The installation instructions and stickers on either end of the cylinder warn the installer to secure the mounting clamps over the very ends of the cylinder where the stickers are located. Tightening them down anywhere else along its length could distort the cylinder and prevent the piston from moving freely inside.
By dumb luck when the brackets are mounted on the ends of the cylinder they line up perfectly with the metal straps securing the gas tank to the frame. There’s even a 6mm stud on each where a plastic guard to protect the tank was mounted prior—a perfect size for one side of each bracket!
Our test fit got the Accusump high enough to be out of harm’s way.
We removed the tank straps and drilled the remaining hole in each for our Accusump brackets.
With the Accusump mounted we now need to wire up the electrical switch.
