Series to introduce “All Star” competition, new weekend format, support races and Pro Track Challenge

With a successful fifth season of the Redline Time Attack Series coming to a close this November, the Series is charting the course for the future of the sport. To best prepare current and future competitors, the Series is releasing the most important details of their future plans.  Beginning with the 2011 season, Redline Time Attack will re-format the weekend of racing activities to better showcase the top-level talent and premiere teams that are involved in the sport of time attack.

Competition will focus on three of the four existing classes in a new “Pro” format: Street Tire, Modified and Super Modified. Entries will be limited to a maximum of 15 competitors in each of the three Classes. A $50,000.00 cash prize pool will also be introduced for Season Championships in the Redline Time Attack competition.

The rules for each of the three Classes will, for the most part, remain intact. Additional vehicle safety requirements will be implemented, primarily in Street Tire Class, in an effort to better protect the drivers as Street Tire Class vehicles continue to run faster lap times.

The licensing requirements for the drivers will be more thorough, allowing for experienced drivers to participate in Redline Time Attack events. Build standards and proven performance capabilities will be followed to determine vehicle eligibility.
