The engine is pretty close to the STD Porsche GT3 NA engine.  The exhaust is green friendly featuring mufflers and  catalytic converters.  Sorry for the lack of good engine pictures.  The team would not let us look at the motor or under the rear deck.  Kinda puzzling because the engines are supposed to be relatively stock.

The engine is a Porsche naturally aspirated 3.8 liter flat six with a large bore of 102.7mm with a 76.4mm stroke, basically a stock GT3 RS engine.  The cylinder heads have 4 valves per cylinder.  Reliable lubrication is provided by a dry sump system. A factory designed header and exhaust system are used with full catalytic converters.  Yes this is a fully emissions equipped race car.  A 4 stage resonance tuned intake manifold is incorporated to improve torque and widen the powerband.

Bosch Motorsports 044 fuel pumps, coolant overflow bottle and a surge tank are in the front trunk of the car.

A Bosch Motorsports MS 3.1 engine control system is used firing Bosch fuel injectors sequentially and controlling ignition timing.  98 motor octane unleaded fuel is used which is European premium pump gas.  The engine produces 450 hp @ 7500 rpm and the maximum rpm is limited to 8500 rpm.

A Motec ADL2 dash also data logs.  The dash ties with the Bosch Motorsports ECU.

The drivetrain features a six speed dog engagement and sequentially shifted tranaxle.  The transaxle features an interesting computer controlled active cooling system where the gear oil is maintained to a constant temperature through a water to oil heat exchanger, where the flow to the heat exchanger is regulated by ECU controlled valves.  This avoids sluggish shifting and lost power caused by too cool gear oil.  The transmission is also dry sumped and pressure fed lubricant to assure proper lubrication and to avoid windage losses.

The six speed transaxle is dog shifted and has sequential shifting.  Nice stuff!  The transaxle has dry sumped pressure fed lubrication, a mechanical variable torque split limited slip differential and electronically controlled cooling.
