Turn Up the Heat: The Drift League Round 3

What was probably considered one of the most exciting battles of the evening was between Cisneros and Rodrigues, both drivers who are in great standings for a PRO2 license. The judges thought both drivers were fairly even in their first battle and called for a OMT. The second battle was also a close call, but the judges noted Rodrigues with an advantage, resulting in him securing his first podium finish with TDL.
The third place contingency battle is always exciting – drivers usually approach this opportunity with an “all or nothing” mentality. Here, Katsanidis and Cisneros battle it out for the final spot on the podium. Although it was a close battle, Katsanidis won, who also found his place on the TDL podium for the first time.

The final battle of the night came down to who was the better chase drivers. Both Cabrera and Rodrigues had proven that they are consistent and aggressive. However after pushing hard, Rodrigues was able to put down a better chase run, securing him with the top podium spot.

Congratulations to the winners of The Drift League Round 3: Keoni Rodrigues in 1st Place, Pablo Cabrera in 2nd Place, and Margaritis Katsanidis in 3rd Place. Round 4 of The Drift League will take place at Irwindale Speedway on September 7th with gates opening at 3 PM. Come out and watch as Tony Cisneros, Keoni Rodrigues, and Jon Shaffer defend their top three positions and the opportunity to earn an FD PRO2 license.
