We Look Inside Fredric Aasbo’s Papadakis Racing Toyota Corolla iM Drift Machine

A 4″ AEM Cold Air Intake is used.  Yes, it is semi-custom, but the high flowing and low restriction AEM Dryflow air filter is a total off the shelf part. Dry flow filters are very free-flowing and are 96 percent efficient in filtration beating most aftermarket filter.

AEM's 4 channel thermocouple amp conditions the individual cylinder temperature signals for the AEM Infinity ECU's data logger. The system can be integrated into pre-programmed engine safeguards in case high EGT's indicate a lean condition.

These stainless standoffs are to keep the K-Type Thermocouples alive longer by getting them out of the direct exhaust stream.

To cool the intake charge, a Hypertune intercooler is used. Since the iM uses a rear mount radiator, the intercooler can be set back to keep it protected and to improve weight distribution. Check out how short the charge piping is. This reduces lag greatly and also reduces compressor work resulting in more power.

Papadakis Racing has developed these stiff and strong, CNC-machined front billet motor mounts that positively bolt to the fabricated front section of the iM's chassis.

The main task of keeping the iM's engine in place falls on these Papadakis Racing designed, CNC machined motor plates.
