Now on to my personal favorite class in ALMS, GT.  Our friends at Rahal Racing almost took the checkered flag, but lost the top spot with less than ten minutes left in the race to the #45 Porsche of Flying Lizard Motorsports.  Right as the last yellow of the race went green the Flying Lizard got a jump on Joey Hand right as they were exiting turn 11 (last turn before front straight) and never looked back.  The BMW duo took the number one and two spots for Rahal Racing putting them in 3rd and 4th positions in the GT season standings.

As the clouds started rolling in, some of the teams started making preparations for rain conditions.

The race ended a little after 8:30pm and it was colder than a witch’s titty.  I must have looked like the unibomber walking around with my hood on and scarf wrapped around my face, but it was so worth it!  A surprisingly large number of fans toughed it out through the cold and stayed the duration of the race proving that America too has great race fans.  We may not have the boozed up all nighters track side like our over seas friends, but hey we still love our motorsports!

The Michelin Man was the only one dressed appropriately for the weather.
