Attacking Time: James Houghton’s Integra Type R

,

The K-Tuned Billet Shifter box (inset) is designed to eliminate any flex or movement of the shifter unit. Designed for the RSX-S, it is a perfect fit for Jimmy's K-swapped setup. If you watched the video, you likely observed some shifting hesitation with the stock setup. This K-Tuned piece will be in place for the next event.

It is also why you will see Jimmy’s name appearing (usually in the top spot) in local AutoSlalom events driving his S2000 and on the driver’s roster in circle track outlaw car events. Locally Outlaw Modified cars usually run 250 HP 2.3 litre Ford engines, although you may find an import engine or even a bike engine powering one of these 1700 pound race cars. Running full slicks, these pavement only cars are designed to go left perfectly. He is working on his race craft and the only way to improve that is seat time in as many venues as one can possibly participate in as a driver. The CSCS season is not over yet. There is still time to sit down and plan out what is next as CSCS heads back to CTMP's DDT on August 10 and then the season finale at TMP on September 21. Will there be more records as he continues to attack time?

Having R-Division stand with him at events and certainly in car preparation, Jimmy is a lucky man. From the right, Kyle Remus (transmissions), Joshua Bannon (car loan), Eric Lavigne (engine builder and fabricator), and Derek Pawlowski (paint and body). If you're like me, sometimes it's easier to remember people by their car! Pic by Mercedeh Ajamzadeh.
