This high mounted surge tank/swirl pot helps ensure that bubbles get completely purged out of the cooling system.
This de-aerating tank and remote filter are all you can see of the Peterson 4 stage (3 scavenge, 1 pressure) dry sump system. RB engines tend to have a lot of torsional whip and shatter oil pump gears quickly when the power rises too much above 400 whp when driven hard on the track. RB’s tend to really trash and heat the engine oil as well during track use. For racing higher powered RB’s a dry sump is mandatory for decent engine life for these reasons.
A Motec M600 ECU with integrated knock control is the engine’s brains.
A huge Plasmaman tube and fin GTR race intercooler helps keep the intake charge temps down. The stock bumper beam has been cut down to make room for the intercooler and allow for unimpeded airflow.
The car sports a custom stainless 4″ diameter exhaust with this cool oval side exit which preserves ground clearance. The internal ribs are to help keep the exhaust from cracking as large section oval exhaust tend to crack easily. The twin Borg Warner EFR 6258 turbo have internal wastegates that dump into the exhaust housing’s tapered diffuser so there is no need for discrete plumbing for them. This is a huge advantage when trying to keep things light and simple on a race car.
The rear coilovers are single adjustable monotube Bilstien PSS9 shocks. Formula Ikeya suspension arms give the rear geometry a lot of adjustability. A Cusco hollow anti sway bar takes care of roll control and balance tuning.
