BPG’s BNR32 Skyline GT-R Time Attack Special

,

Although not a full motorsports grade Mil spec harness, the wiring is quite tidy and well laid out.
Some of the cage rear bracing as seen through the vented lexan rear window.
Guys, this NACA duct is on backwards!
This device controls the torque split. Like most AWD race cars the more power going to the front, the faster the car goes.
BPG’s car looks very much like a clean tastefully modded street car, even when it is home at the track.  Until last year, the team campaigned the car with nearly stock bodywork.
This year the more refined car with modified aero went about 4 seconds a lap faster than the previous year.  With solid under pinnings in the powertrain department, to us the question is, will the team soon have to abandon the street tuner look and step it up with a more race car like aero and suspension package to remain competitive? We kinda hope not because we love how the car looks now.  In some ways a part of me feels that the aero revolution has in a way taken the fun out of the world of time attack and even tuning in general.

The BPG BNR 32 is a wonderful example of a well tuned R32.  It will be interesting to see how the car develops and what will be different for next year.  Will the team add aero?  Will the team opt for a more sophisticated suspension and brake systems?  With a history of going faster every year we will be dying to see what BPG will have in store next year!
