Black painted ducts direct all air to the radiator and engine heat exchangers.  A multi nozzle high pressure mister system can flood this area with chilled water if needed for extreme conditions like in Las Vegas.  The black color makes it hard to see this tin work.

The rear section contains the battery, master electrical power panel and fuel cell.  It is designed to absorb severe impacts and be quickly removable and replaceable if it gets badly damaged.  This area has been greatly reinforced after the 2010 Atalanta incident where a bad collision destroyed the back of the car almost taking it out of action.

The fuel system was greatly revised in 2011 to prevent any sort of vapor lock problems which plague drift cars due to the amount of heat soak they endure.  The fuel cell is insulated and the fuel line has been relocated far away from any potential heat sources.  The Aeromotive main and back up pumps and filter have been relocated  below the fuel level .  A vapor purge valve has also been added to the return line to quickly cycle cool fresh fuel through the lines if need be in an emergency.

A G-Force GSR dog-engagement 4 speed transmission is used.  This is a popular transmission for circle track racing.  It is very strong and robust with the dog equipped gears contributing to very fast shifting.  The GSR is becoming the main transmission used in drifting.  A McLeod twin iron disc clutch and super light flywheel are used.  Surprisingly this clutch is smooth and can last an entire season!

A Winters quick change differential is used.  The diff can change final drive ratios in just minutes and the car is geared to minimize shifts on a particular course.  The diff has a 10.5″ ring gear and is very strong, way stronger than the typical R200 Nissan diff which is important for reliability.  The only mods FD allows to the stock rear subframe is to install a quick change or HD diff to avoid down time in the show.  The diff uses a solid spool differential instead of an LSD.  This is also becoming the norm in drifting.

The interior uses Sparco EVO 2 seats, Sparco harnesses and Dai’s personal steering wheel.  Dai likes a close steering wheel so the steering column is modified to move it closer.  A Motec dash monitors the engine’s parameters.

A carbon fiber dash is used with a Long shifter that gives very direct and positive shifts.  A hydraulic turning brake is used with an independent circuit.  This is also becoming the norm in drifting.
