This ’76 Jaguar XJ12 coupe looks pretty sweet, especially with those very 80s rims and that speedy looking bodykit. However the real treat is under the hood.
The Jag V12 is gone, replaced with a Chevy LT1 small block V8! Now while that would normally not be all that exciting according to the owner of this car, HOTROD Magazine originally owned this car and did the V8 swap in 1996. They then sold the car and he found it in Michigan and brought it down to Delaware. Neat!
The owner of the Jag also owns this gem. It is a 1985 Fortvac Bernardi. WTF?!? The Fortvac was a concept car based off the Cimbria kit car. It’s powered by the engine and transmission from an Oldsmobile Toronado. You will notice there isn’t anywhere near enough room in that front end for a big Oldsmobile V8, so instead it’s rear engined. The body is all fiberglass. The rear suspension is a custom trailing arm design, while the front is lifted from a C4 Corvette.
These pictures are of slightly lower quality because these were actually taken in 2012, not 2014 (since I forgot to take high res pics of the interior this year). The interior is definitely from the 1980s, especially that vintage digital dashboard.
The seats and belts are not original to the car, but they are fitting. Best of all if you are interested in one of these, the owner of this car has bought the rights to the Fortvac and Cimbria lines and is going to being producing them again, right here in Delaware!
This 1927 Austin looks pretty cool doesn’t it? Nice example of a British hotrod right? Almost a 3/4 version of some of the Fords we saw earlier.
But unlike any other Austin you’ll see, this one is powered by a 13B! Rotary power! This little engine is about the only motor that will fit into this engine bay…and it’s STILL shoehorned in there. This car sounds epic when it’s running.
