While the APM Scion FR-S qualified once again at the back of the pack, Richie Ho was able to find 2 seconds in the car with an improved time of 2:03.811. That is a huge improvement between Race One Qualifying and Race Two Qualifying! |
Coming in late didn't help Rockwood pick up the pace enough to improve his qualifying position from Race One. Steve and Project G20 would start Fourth with a time of 1:58.941. |
Engine troubles seemed to have fired up Michele Abbate, however, as she was able to improve her time and start Third in Race Two with a time of 1:54.933, a plus 3 second improvement compared to Race One qualifying. |
Justin Taylor also improved over Race One Qualifying, but not in position. He improved his time with a 1:54.920. That's just over 2 seconds better! |
Unknown to Edo at the time, rain had briefly fell on the track. It wasn't enough to wet the surface, in fact it was just enough to say moisture had fallen. Without that information, Edo had thought that he blew a radiator as Stephan Papadakis did in Saturday's race. Martin happened to be in the hot pits when Edo pulled in and gave the car a once over. Edo pulled off track after not hearing Martin tell him that it was just rain on his windshield. |
Once the crew confirmed there was no problem with the car, Edo went back out and posted a 1:52.879, .097 seconds faster than his Race One qualifying lap and 2.041 seconds faster than Taylor. Edo was looking unstoppable. |
