Here is the Fluidampr in place before the rest of the car was assembled.
When driving the car after the installation we were amazed at the improvement in smoothness. The engine lost almost all feable vibration becoming incredibly shake and NVH-free. The engine also felt much more lively and freer revving. We were surprised at the improvement in the car’s seat of the pants feel. In fact this engine had a better butt dyno feel that any engine we have run the Fluidamr on to date.
We dynoed the Fluiidamper before and after the installation on Evasive Motorsports Mustang chassis dyno and found no power difference with this stock motor, which we found surprising considering how much better the engine felt. We think that the reduction in vibration can allow more timing to be run as torsional vibrations in belt-driven engines tend to make the ignition and cam timing less stable. However, we did not experiment with adding timing as we wanted to measure the effects of the Fluidampr alone. One possible answer is our baseline dyno was done with temperatures in the 70’s but the follow-up dyno tests were done in the middle of a heatwave with the dyno room temperature of over 100 degrees. The dyno has a correction factor but we prefer not to test under these conditions but that is what we could do with the time constraints and dyno availability.
We are sure that adding this smoothness doesn’t hurt and the power difference will become apparent with a modified engine or with better weather conditions. A stock or heavily modified engine should also benefit from greater life with the Fluidampr. As we said some engines see increases in power in stock form and others do not. Subaru engines do but we didn’t see a gain in stock 4G63 Mitsubishi engines. We feel that all engines will benefit from superior vibration damping in the long run with longer life.

pretty sure that’s a 1.8, even if the chassis may have started as a 1.6. Fluidampr makes great products!
It is a 1.8
I remember when I put the Fluidampr on my STI.
I started the engine and heard the exhaust, but didn’t noticed any vibrations through the seat.
Confused I touched the shifter and confirmed.
Oh ya, it is running.
Made a big difference.
