Holding Dave tight in the car is a Racetech fixed seat with a halo bar. The halo bar keeps his head from moving back and forth in the event of a crash and in high g-loads. The Crow 6-point Cam-Lock belts hold him to the seat and measure 3 inches across on the shoulder belts.
A Sparco racing steering wheel is bolted to a Woodward Precision Power Steering quick release steering hub and CSA-series safety steering column. The steering column is designed to collapse in the event of a front crash to protect the driver.
The safety cage is an FIA style that has additional bars for further strengthen the chassis, but not too much in order to avoid adding more weight than necessary.
To Dave's right are the Safecraft fire extinguisher pin release and the brake bias bar adjuster for the Tilton pedal box.
Also, the shifter for the Tremec Magnum transmission is covered by a Joe's Racing Products shift boot. Above it is the reservoir for the Tilton brake and clutch master cylinders.
To his left is the Quick Car Master Disconnect Switch that is also in easy reach for a corner worker, if that worker is ever needed. It's tab is welded to the top of the door bar.
