Now the bolts holding the intercooler down and the charge pipes to the end tanks can be removed.
The OEM intercooler can now be removed from the car.
The Garret Intercooler is much taller than the OEM Honda part.
The Garrett intercooler core is much thicker as well.
Look how the CDF designed cast Garrett end tanks are much more swoopy and diffuse the charge air over the inlet to the heat exchanger better. Garrett made the heat exchanger brick a little shorter than the OEM intercooler because CFD and thermal analysis showed that having good end tank geometry was better for pressure drop and cooling effectiveness across the core than simply having the longest core possible.
The stock rubber mounts are removed from the stock intercooler and reused on the new Garrett intercooler.
