Global Time Attack Round 2 - Road Atlanta
While Kevin Parlett in the SOHO Motorsports Infiniti G35 was able to net $200 and Second Place in Unlimited RWD, he lost a car. With a crash in a late Saturday session, his recorded time of 1:34.348 was set just prior.

While Jared Stoops in the AMI Racing Porsche GT3 wasn’t racing, he let Chris Rado know that the Unlimited RWDs are faster than FWDs with a time of 1:27.789. Wait, what? Nope, you read correctly, not only did Rado beat a RWD car, but a Porsche GT3 on top of that! Goes to show what kind of engineering went into that Scion tC, doesn’t it? That new class record and $600 would have put him in 56th place at the 2011 Petit Le Mans, just behind Rado. Well, at least Stoops can drift with it!

Global Time Attack Round 2 - Road Atlanta
There were three cars in Unlimited AWD for Road Atlanta. Phil Grabow in the Element Tuning Subaru STI turned in a time of 1:31.586. That time was worthy of those GTA Steak Knives!

Doing the RVA Proud, Whit Staples in the Fortune Auto Mitsubishi Evolution secured Second Place and $200. His time of 1:30.293 was set on Saturday during the morning sessions. Maybe he can use the GTA Steak Knives that Todd Reid won and get a good dinner with the $200 that Whit won!

Domination, which is how you could describe the GST Motorsports Subaru Impreza L! With a time of 1:23.628, Jeff Westphal was nearly 7 seconds faster than Whit Staples! He was not only able to set the new class record, but also turn the fastest time of the event.
Global Time Attack Round 2 - Road Atlanta
Jeff would have also qualified 48 th at the 2011 Petit Le Mans if GTA Cars were allowed to compete, which is a huge success when you consider that Mike Warfield does not have a factory budget to play with to make his car that fast. You also have to consider that this car is over 10 years old which means that this chassis is totally built by him as the aftermarket for the Impreza L isn’t exactly strong here in the USA. It also shows the talent of Jeff Westphal to be able to drive a car this fast.

So, there you have it, folks! The records are set from Global Time Attack Road Atlanta and the books are closed until next year. However, Global Time Attack for 2012 isn’t over yet, instead it has just begun. Next up is the sweltering heat and humidity of Palm Beach International Raceway in West Palm Beach, FL. It’s also where we will again have a double header with Formula Drift! Keep in on the action here at MotoIQ!
