#LeMansDay at the Petersen Automotive Museum

I don’t think I’ve seen a Ferrari LaFerrari before, but I have now. With the doors open, it gives a good view of the central carbon fiber tub. You can also see the shapes of the doors and how they are a critical part of the aerodynamic package.

Yes, it’s a hybrid too, as evidenced by the bright orange high voltage cables visible through the rear mesh. The LaFerrari features active aerodynamics, and you can see the linkage to the moveable panel in the rear diffuser.

At the main entrance to the museum were a couple more Ferraris. On a side note, the Vault houses a collection of a bunch more cars which requires paying for an additional ticket for admission.

What is old is new again with the latest Ferrari 488 being twin turbocharged like this 288 GTO. Cooling air is fed to the intercoolers through side scoops and the heated air is exhausted through these vents in the engine cover.

I imagine that single tube dumping out next to the rear transaxle is a wastegate dump tube. As we know, open dump is good for power.
