#LeMansDay at the Petersen Automotive Museum

,

Part of what made it awesome was boost! Thermal management is always important, which is why the turbine housings are wrapped in insulation.

It’s a bit hard to see, but the intercoolers are visible through the mesh in the big gap in the rear deck lid used to exhaust the air.

The first motorcycles from Indian and Harley Davidson look to be little more than bicycles with engines attached. I’ve seen the same thing with more modern bicycle frames and gas engines around Los Angeles. Of course, there has been the rise of electric bicycles. Did I say what was old is new again? It’s funny how history repeats itself.

As Michelin was as sponsor for #LeMansDay at the Petersen Automotive Museum, they were handing out these goodie bags. The bag itself is quite nice and seems to have a water-proof inner liner along with a zipped outer pocket. You can wear it like a backpack, like all the kids do at music festivals. Inside the bag were a fan, sun block, Chap Stick, and a towel. I do love swag!

As if you need a reason to visit the Petersen Automotive Museum, #LeMansDay was pretty awesome. I got to play Forza a bit, watch the race with other gearheads, eat some free food, and even got a swag bag. But really, you just need to go to the Petersen Automotive Museum regardless. There’s a lot of automotive history along with a few of the newest hyper cars in existence. It’s a mandatory stop for any car buff.
