Nerd’s Eye View: Tilton Interiors Mitsubishi Evo 9

,

tilton interiors evo fuel cell and tubular rear subframeWhere the rear left passenger's butt would have been is now the fuel cell. Within in are two lift pumps that feed two Bosch 044 pumps. The pumps join into a single -8 AN hose that feeds the fuel rail up front with Aussie wheat based E85 fuel. Also visible here is the fabricated tubular rear subframe. While it directly replaces the factory rear subframe, it also has slightly different suspension pickup points to improve the rear suspension geometry. This tubular subframe is also lighter than the factory cast aluminum piece.

The car up to 2013 was pretty much what a good crew of builders, engineers, and fabricator could build. It was a fast car that was pretty much still an EVO. From here the car is drastically changed. I have not seen it up close myself so I can't say how much of an EVO it still is, but it appears to have an intact unibody with crazy body work. Will the aero package work?  I hope so because NEMO is coming back to WTAC 2013 and the car isn't going to be slow. It'll be exciting to see what happens between the Tilton EVO and NEMO. Or will the Scorch S15, MCA S13, or Top Fuel S2000 rear wheel drive cars come out of nowhere with proper diets, traction/yaw control strategies, and another 300HP? They should because that's what I'd do!

As revealed on the Tilton Interiors Racing Facebook page just earlier tonight on the next page. Your dream of an ultimate EVO may or may not end here. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and performance lies in the laws of physics.
