Performance Racing Industry: What’s New and Cool 2023 Edition

There are always new and exciting applications at the CSF booth.

Every year we stop at the CSF booth, and every year we wonder how they survive on so little sleep. I mean, how can they come out with so many new things year after year and still manage to get any shuteye? 2023 has been no exception. New heat exchangers for the B58 platform, with a number of G8X-specific BMW M4 applications, including a ZF8 transmission cooler. Performance oil coolers for your classic 1967-1898 911 and 930 Porsche, or your 914-6? Why not. How about oil and intercoolers for your GR Corolla? Yup, those, too. Wowza.

The new CR-S V2 from Nankang is trying to claim king of the 200 treadwear tires.

Power, power, power, power – we’ve talked a lot about making more power. But how do you get all that power to the ground? Well, Nankang has a new version 2 of their popular 200-treadwear CR-S tire out. Having seen performance tests from other folks, this is looking to be a very, very serious tire. The performance-per-dollar in this 200-treadwear market is really starting to get off the charts, and the endurance racing and other series that are requiring 200TWs are driving innovation in the tire space like we’ve never seen before.

Keep those wheels looking nice!

At the end of the day, when the timers have stopped running, when you’re all worn out, when the records have been set, and when long ago someone has left with the cup, it’s time to clean up after yourself, you filthy animal. Now, Titan7 makes that easy, at least for your wheels, with their Gtechniq collaboration in this Wheel Armor kit. Looking fresh is just as important as going fast.

But, if you want to make a small change to go a little faster, Titan7 still also has you covered. Sure, those titanium racing lug nuts will definitely help you lose some weight, but that $355 price tag tends to hurt the wallet. For a more cost-effective but still high-performance option, Titan7 now has a 4130 Chromoly Steel racing nut option. While it may look like it, these no-special-tools-required nuts come in 35mm and 50mm lengths in common thread pitches and in sets of either 20 or 24.

So, at the end of it all, if you can only make one small change, this is a great choice.

I can’t wait for next year’s PRI!
