The 7.3L Godzilla now gets the complete ARP makeover.

While we’re inside engines, let’s talk ARP. Now, last year at PRI the Godzilla 7.3L motor was debuted as a crate engine option dubbed Megazilla. But the Godzilla engine has been around since 2020. As more and more folks are starting to use these motors in performance applications, and not just for hauling drywall, the aftermarket support is coming in waves. ARP has released a complete lineup of Godzilla fasteners, so you can be sure that all the power you want to make will be held together tightly.

ACL has an extensive catalog of race bearing options, and it just got a monster upgrade.

ACL has also jumped into Godzilla’s frosty ocean waters and has released a pMaxKote set of race bearings for the powerplant.

Eagle has been in this connecting rod game for a long time. When they have something new, take note.

Stepping away from the Godzilla for a moment, let’s return to the venerable 2JZ. Eagle has debuted a new 4th gen connecting rod for Toyota’s 3L platform. The new rods feature a wider beam with thicker webbing, and more thickness in the strap around the pin area. Bigger and thicker is generally the name of the game with this Gen 4 rod, right down to the 7/16 bolt they used instead of the traditional 3/8. This 100% CNC-machined rod might weigh 35-40 grams more, but it will likely be capable of much higher power than the previous Gen 3 2JZ rod. And that 3rd generation rod was rated for 1500hp! Don’t think that Eagle is only focused on old stuff. They’ve got an A90 Supra rod in the works, so your B58 builds will be covered soon, too.

JE’s Ultra Series pistons have a lot of unique features – now for the 2JZ.

And, while we’re talking about the 2JZ, let’s also talk JE – pistons, that is. JE has a new Ultra Series application for 2JZ featuring all their super fancy coatings and proprietary Grain Flow Optimized Forging technology. Look, that 2JZ platform may be decades old at this point, but there’s still room to make it a little more awesome.
