Porsche Rennsport Reunion Event Coverage

We stopped by the Gunther Werks booth to check out their 993 filled with carbon fiber panels inside and out.  The car is an original air cooled 993 that has most of the unibody removed and replaced with bonded on carbon panels.  This give the car a degree of period correctness improved with modern technology.

 

 

The entire inner tub and dash of the 993 have been completely redone in dry carbon fiber.  Scroll right to see the entire tub. This give more stiffness and strength with signifcantly less weight.

 

With a close-up shot of the front, you can see that a lot of fine details were taken into consideration when designing and crafting the 400R, from the placement of carbon weave for aesthetics as well as function to the projector headlights laser etched with the 400R logo.

 

We finally got a chance to peek at the original Gunther Werks 400R up close and personal.  The car has clean craftsmanship mixing old an new together gracefully with taste.

 

The Gunther Werks 400R has beautiful dry carbon fiber door panels, and aluminum door handles that extend out to the speaker grill.

  1. I designed a 3 way adjustable sway bar with a MTB front derailleur shifter. It was super simple linkage, that works great. But it was an SAE car, so it was only 400lbs.

  2. You guys should look into Lite Blox Battery, (made in Germany). Their heaviest battery weighs 2.6Kg./ 5.72lbs. The technology in their battery put to shame big named companies.
    Great article but that RWB doesn’t belong on here.
