The stock FD RX-7’s sway bar mounts are flimsy, welded sheet metal that are barely sufficient for the stock suspension and sway bar. When utilizing stiffer aftermarket swaybars, like the 174% stiffer, solid 30mm SuperPro USA Swaybar that we installed in Part 3, these weak mounts are known to crack and fail.
These billet mounts are hard anodized and are shortened to align the Swaybar on cars lowered 1-1.5”. They are significantly stronger than stock and look fantastic.
One of the best features of these mounts are the lateral load clips which clamp the factory pinch weld on the frame rail with beefy M8 bolts to further increase the stiffness and rigidity of the chassis and improve the effectiveness of the Swaybar.
Once we bolted the SuperPro USA Swaybar to the new Sakebomb Competition Billet Swaybar Mounts, the front end of our car was complete.
Now that our suspension is completely gone through and rebuilt with new pillowball bushings, SuperPro USA polyurethane bushings, ARP extended studs, powder coated subframes, and all of the control arms vapor blasted, our FD should handle and perform significantly better than before.
Stay tuned for the next installment.

I dig that clamp designed into the sway bar mount, very cool! Loving this build, almost a roller!
What is the overall goal for this car, Billy? You are putting so much money into it that you might never drive it to avoid scratches! Everything is top notch and I enjoy reading every installment.
The car is being built to be driven and to share the rotary platform to a new group of people and to demonstrate that with proper engineering, they can be reliable and extremely high performers. The car will be tracked and taken to many events. This is not going to be a show car or garage queen.
It is done as a well balanced reliable car and this and what we did to our STI are examples of what it takes to do it right.
Amazing job on the bushing work who did that for you
