Project G37 Sedan Fast Intentions Exhaust

Fast Intentions work of art x-pipe and 18″ resonators for the G37.

Flanges on the system are beefy 3/8” thick mild steel that are bright nickel plated to eliminate corrosion.  All the flanges are welded on the inside and sanded down for a smooth exhaust flow.  This extra step in the process greatly reduces exhaust turbulence at the flange connection points.  From the X-pipe the exhaust flows into twin 5” x 9” oval and 14” long stainless and perforated core mufflers.  The jewelry at the end consists of 4” dual wall resonated and polished stainless exhaust tips.

Returning back to UpRev in Austin, Tx we last left off gaining 10 whp from Stillen’s Gen 3 Intake.  After our dyno runs from that were done we quickly proceeded to the exhaust with the car still on the dyno.

This bracket reinforcing the exhaust structure was the first thing to go.
While the car was still hot James and Don from UpRev used the longest ratchet extension I’ve seen to break the cat bolts loose from the engine compartment.
Watching these guys work makes me feel woefully inadequate as a DIY wrencher.  They had the cats unbolted and the exhaust system removed before I would have been done putting the car on jackstands.  Never mind the knuckle-busting hours of fun under the car on a creeper.

  1. in the videos were the cars non resonated or 18in resonator, im looking to buy one and am just concerned the 18inch resonator will be to quiet and the non resonator will have to much drone and lose the deep sound. if you could get back to me thatd be great thanks.

  2. We got the 18″ resonators on the 2.25″ exhaust. The resonators are shown on page 2 of the article. I love the exhaust. It’s quiet enough when I’m cruising around on surface streets or on the highway but there’s nothing quiet about it once your over 4k RPM’s. On cold startup my neighbors definitely hear the car. It’s the perfect compromise in my opinion compared to other louder exhausts that sound great when you’ve got your foot stuffed on the go fast pedal but make you hate the car when you’re just driving normally.
