Project GD STI- Keeping Cool with Greddy and Koyo!

,

To address the issues with our intake filter location, we took our car to Brian Kono of AfterHours Automotive to do some fabrication.  Brian fabbed up this aluminum intake tube with a more pronounced S bend in it to better position the filter in the airbox.  We also used HPS 4 ply silicone coupler hose to make the short couplers.
Here is what the cleaned up intake looked like after Brian performed his work.  The filter element is now centered in the airbox and away from the IC pipe.
We used the stock air intake tube to direct cold air into the airbox.  We cut out the back side of the tube so it would dump air into the airbox instead of the fenderwell.  We feel that the Cobb setup greatly reduces intake air temps over the SPT intake.  We will log intake air temps later and report back on this.
The HPS radiator hose fits perfectly.
The Koyo high pressure radiator cap in place.
Brian welded the Synapse DV BOV bung and extended the recirculation pipe to the turbo inlet.  An HPS 1.25″ 90 degree bend hose connects it all to the turbo inlet.  Nice, clean and direct.

  1. Do you have any other picture for where the cooler mounts. Im trying to install the same kit on a 2004 sti and have trouble figuring out where the lower bracket goes.

    Thanks
