Project GD STI, Out with the Old and in with the New!

We test-fitted our Process West Intake Manifold and installed the TGV deletes.  We also installed a new alternator and power steering pump, ours was leaking.

We installed our Nightmotorsport AOS valve covers.  They fit like a dream.

Next, the stock coils were replaced with Ignition Projects multi-spark coils. These have many times more ignition power and spark 10x per power cycle to assure ignition even with lots of turbo boost!  We have had excellent luck with these coils on many of our other project cars.

IAG’s heavy-duty engine mounts were bolted to the IAG 700 motor.

Here is our fully dressed IAG 700 motor ready to drop in.  We installed a Fluidampr balancer and a new belt tensioner to insure that we would not have to mess with this stuff for a long time.  We really like the Fluidampr, it uses an inertia ring floating in viscous silicon fluid to damp torsional vibrations like no other. We use Fluidamprs on all of our high-power projects and customer builds.  Search Fluidampr on our site to read our test results and for more details on how these dampers work.   Finally, we added the engine harness and heater hoses to the motor after the picture was taken.
