Since most of you out there are not master welders or have any experience designing or fabricating roll cages, we are going to assume you will outsource the work like we did. But where to start? A good starting point would be to actually attend a few NASA races to start getting acquainted with some of the drivers. Their knowledge and experience will help put you on the right track to finding a reputable fabricator. A quick search for cage fabricators on the internet will yield a large number of results, but nothing is better than good old “word of mouth” referrals. Make certain you discuss your timeline, budget, expected results and design specifics before hand. Metal fabrication is generally permanent and costly to replace.
Revenge Motorsports came highly recommended and exceeded all our expectations! |
We chose Revenge Motorsports in Escondido, California to fabricate our cage. John at Revenge Motorsports has been working with metal for a large portion of his life and has a special knack for visualizing what will fit where. John had our car in and out quickly, and built an absolutely beautiful cage. Everything fit perfectly and tightly to the body of the car.
