Project MKVI Golf TDI: Dieselgeek “Panzer” Heavy Duty Aluminum Skid Plate

,

Tightening the rivnuts to 30lbs/ft sets them in place.
The driver's side front Panzer Plate bracket in place.  The stud protruding from the bottom of the bracket will provide the 3rd mounting point for the Panzer Plate.
The right side bracket mounts the same as the left side with the exception of one rivnut and one frame rail stud.  The stud on the bottom of that bracket is the fourth and final mounting point for the Panzer Plate.
With all 4 mounting studs in place all we have left to do is reinstall the stock belly pan (which we elected not to) and the Panzer Plate fits right over it.
Installed, the Dieselgeek Panzer Plate hardly reduces ground clearance at all.  It adds an additional 22lbs of weight but also good peace of mind that the next dead animal, rock or tire debris we hit on the road isn't going to take out our oil pan!
