Project S2000 AP1: Installing the DeatschWerks DW200 Fuel Pump

,

Howard removes the clip that keeps the fuel pump in place in the housing.
The stock pump is removed and put next to the new pump to compare size difference. Here you can see the size difference on the DW200 compared to the OEM pump. The overall lengths of the pumps are nearly equal, but you can see how much bigger the motor part of the DW200 is. The stock fuel pump looks very old and tired. It was definitely time to put the stock pump into retirement after 143k miles.
Here, Howard puts the clip over the end of the pickup sock to hold it in place when in the gas tank.
Howard then measures the two pumps and shortens the new pressure pump outlet hose slightly to make up for the slightly longer DW200 body.
The filter is on and the rubber hose is clamped down.

  1. Hello,
please how it behaved on a standard engine, were there any problems after some time? I may have trouble with the original fuel pump and am considering replacing the DW200, but it will be on the serial engine, supercharging do not consider. I’m not sure if the flow rate at the original specification is good. Thanks
