Project S2000 AP1: Installing the DeatschWerks DW200 Fuel Pump

,

Back in the tank, the fuel pump goes.
When putting the pump housing back in, be careful to not bend the arm that is connected to the fuel level sensor.
The new pump is in and everything is connected and ready to go.

Lastly, we started the car after everything was buttoned up. We turned the key on to let the fuel pump prime and to check for leaks, then we started the car up. The car started up without any issues, and the loud fuel pump noise was gone. After a week of driving around on the new DW200 fuel pump, the car feels better, with better throttle response and has more pep in it. This is due to having full, consistent fuel pressure, which our failing stock fuel pump was not providing.

After upgrading the fuel pump, it got us thinking about adding more power to the car. We have the pump to make power in the mid to low 300 hp range. Now the question is, which route do we go? A supercharger could be a possibility or maybe even turbocharging the car. Whatever we do, make sure to stay tuned to see what we are up to!

  1. Hello,
please how it behaved on a standard engine, were there any problems after some time? I may have trouble with the original fuel pump and am considering replacing the DW200, but it will be on the serial engine, supercharging do not consider. I’m not sure if the flow rate at the original specification is good. Thanks
