Project SEMA Scion Tuner Challenge FR-S: Brakes and Wheels
With all the stock stuff removed, it is time to trim the stock backing plate down.  This must be done to provide clearance for the new larger rotor.
Howard uses an air chisel to do the cutting.
With the rough cutting done, the remnants of the backing plate are filed smooth.
The caliper adapter bracket is then bolted into place.
Next the rotor centering ring is slid into place on the hub.
You can see how the centering ring engages the rotor hat.  This ensures no wobbles or shimmy even with the extra force that the parking brake can exert on the hat.
