For this build, we are going to use an MLS head gasket, which requires an extremely smooth deck surface.
Tom finished the head with his Serdi head surfacing machine, which gives a super fine finish. This is perfect for our MLS gasket. Tom sets the Serdi to cut the minimal amount of material to assure a perfectly smooth and true deck surface.
The head goes through its first pass and you can see the smoothness – quite a drastic change!
The finish looks awesome! Extremely smooth and ready for the MLS head gasket in the future.
Tom then takes out all the sharp edges off of the head to prevent any future cracking and so the super sharp freshly machined edges won't cut you when handling the head.
