Redline Track Events Round 4 at Willow Springs, CA 7/4/11

The MotoIQ MPTCC Liberty Grand Prix took place right before sunset.  There was still a decent amount of ambient light available but some racers I’m sure wish they had headlights during the race.  Andy Hope in the CRX leads the pack and was out in front for most of the race.

Edik Stepanyan and Andy Hope put on a great show for the spectators and their finishing positions came down to the last lap.  Edik held onto 1st place in spectacular fashion and narrowly won the inaugural MPTCC Liberty Grand Prix in the Edo Motorsports Acura Integra.  Edik backed up that performance and also took 1st in Sunday’s MPTCC race.

Honda Challenge veteran Andy Hope came out to do battle in his Circuit Monsters Honda CRX that looked too nice to race.  Hope led from the green flag and held onto the lead for almost the whole race.  It wasn’t until the last lap that Stepanyan in the Edo Motorsports Integra was able to sneak by and snatch the win.

Mike Kojima gave up his Dog II car for Dai in order for him to maintain his championship points lead.  Dai finished 2nd place in both the Saturday Liberty Grand Prix MPTCC race and Sunday’s regularly scheduled MPTCC race.  The Dog I, the blue and white Sentra that Dai drove at Round 3 had an oil pressure incident on the dyno and was not able to make the weekend competition.

The APM Peformance RSX battled close with Yoshihara during the MPTCC race.  Thankfully it was a clean race and there was no contact between the Dog II and the RSX this round.   Richard Ho piloted the RSX to 3rd place in both races.

The Shart shart itself during the Liberty Grand Prix.  Scott Vanderheide driver of the Fontana Nissan Sentra was battling issues on Saturday and wasn’t able to make the Sunday race.  Rest assured the Shart will make another “mark”.
