Sneak Peek: Nissan IDx Nismo

,

Nissan Nismo IDxA cool feature I like on this concept is the vent located in the front red stripe.
Nismo IDx pedalsI believe the vent in the door lines up with this vent in the fender. Looking at the pedals, well, there is no clutch pedal so I suppose you don’t need to place the brake near the gas for heel-toe action.
Nissan IDx nismo interiorBeing a show car, it had these pedal covers to keep the pedals clean while people drove it around. I like the two round dials with the buttons on top; they remind me of good old school stopwatches. The hub of the steering wheel appears to be carbon fiber. Why not? In the name of weight savings, or maybe just as an homage to race cars, a strap is used for the interior door handle.
nissan IDx nismo interiorA bottle (assuming it is supposed to be a fire extinguisher) resides under the center armrest. I guess the concept of the car is a bit in the same vein as the GT-R Track model, so there are no rear seats.
nismo idx rear suspensionI got this one peek at the rear suspension, but it is difficult to make out much due to the body panels. I am guessing the spring must be mounted inboard as what you seen here is the damper. Of importance is the rear axle somewhat visible through the suspension bits. There were some rumblings of a production version of this car going front wheel drive. NISSAN, if you’re listening, MAKE THIS CAR REAR WHEEL DRIVE. IT WILL NOT SELL IF IT IS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. Okay, thanks, bye!
nismo idx t-shirtFor you marketing types out there, Nissan had this pretty good scheme going. To get a free t-shirt, all you had to do was show you posted something about the event on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc). Figure the average person has 500 friends or so on Facebook, and that’s about how many exposures Nissan was getting per cost of a t-shirt. That seems like a pretty good return on their marketing dollars.
