The Berk Technology BMW 135i looks very different now with its new bodywork and vinyl wrap.  During mid-season the team worked with APR Performance and VFiber to create this one off widebody kit.  The Berk 135i driven by Carl Rydquist took down a long standing record in the Limited RWD class with a 1:53.221.  The old record was set in 2006 by GMG Racing and James Sofronas in a World Challenge Spec Porsche GT2.  Pretty cool considering that the Berk 135i is built and intended for street class competition.

We also saw the return of Tim “Stinky Tofu” Kuo driving the Sportcar Motion Integra Type-R powered by a Kraftwerks SC’ed K20.  Tim scooted the very lightweight and high horsepower car around the track in 1:54.789 setting a new record in Limited FF.  During one of their last sessions they lost all boost pressure from their blower.  Turns out that a pulley on their SC pulled a Houdini and simply disappeared.  One of the great things about superchargers is that when a pulley malfunction occurs the car is usually fully drivable.

Moving onto the Street FF class we have Clint Boisdeau in the Apollo Performance Ford Focus.  Clint may be a small guy but he packs quite a punch in his Focus by dipping below the 2:00 mark in a street tire, FWD car.  Not only did Clint dip under 2:00, he came REALLY close to breaking into the 1:58 range.  Clint’s fastest time of the day was clocked in at 1:59.086.

Evasive brought a huge crew out to SLB to handle their three cars in competition.  Evasive also had several suspension engineers from Tein on hand to help fine tune their suspension setup.  The Tein guys are the ones in the green jumpsuits.

Evasive Motorsports came out in full force with three cars at SLB.  All three went home with 1st place awards for the day, they call that a hatrick in hockey.  1st in Limited AWD (EVO 9), 1st in Street AWD (EVO 9), and 1st in Street FR (S2000).  Their EVO 9 had some trouble during practice the day before and they killed their HKS GT3240 turbo.  The turbine wheel had somehow dug itself into the exhaust housing and would no longer rotate freely meaning that turbo was done.  By some miracle Evasive were able to borrow an identical HKS turbo the same day and had the turbo system up and running by morning.

Team owner Mike Chang was driving the Evasive EVO 9 and his driving skills have gotten up to speed quickly as evidenced by his lap time of 1:49.124.  Mike’s time was good for 1st in the Limited AWD class and 3rd fastest overall at the event.  Chang's time in the EVO is the second fastest time ever ran in the limited AWD class and is knocking on the door of JC Meynet's record setting time from 2010.  All of their cars sport lots of aero parts from JDM specialist Voltex.
