Super Lap Battle Finals – FXMD NSX & Tyler McQuarrie Break Overall Time Attack Record

,

Phillip Chase was behind the wheel of the Evasive/Kontrabrands EVO 9 in the Street AWD class.  The silver EVO was dressed tastefully with Voltex aero bits and resembled more of a true street car but was able to put down race car like times with a class winning 1:57.735.

We were really hoping to see Evasive break their own record in Street FR in their S2000.  Their S2000 was sporting a revised Voltex aero package and an AEM EMS system for more power compared to last year.  Evasive didn’t beat their own record but nevertheless Rob Walker was really quick with a 1:57.887 time good for 1st.

Ryan Gates in the Gates 311 EVO X reemerged after a long hiatus from time attack in an attempt to crack the record in Limited AWD.  Gates had to retire early due to mechanical issues but was still able to clock a very fast 1:50.181 which was good for 2nd place.

The “other” Jackson family went out testing in their Jackson Racing powered CRZ and also won the Hybrid class.  Oscar Jackson Jr. was at the wheel and laid down some impressive times for a hybrid.  Jackson is racing and saving the planet all at the same time.

Gary Castillo was out doing some durability testing with the Design Craft Electronic Cam System (ECS) kit which adapts the K-Series I-VTEC to the F-Series head.  The Design Craft ECS kit made 99hp and 130lb/ft of torque on the turbocharged CWest/Hankook S2000.  I-VTEC just kicked in yo!

You should check out Rado’s Scion FWings up close.  They are some of the most beautifully constructed cars in time attack and the attention to detail is nothing short of amazing.  Rado and the World Racing crew are also one of the friendliest bunch of guys out there.
