He has owned this car since 1975. It has been a street Bug, off-road Bug, sand drag Bug, and now paved drag Bug. It is street legal, uses a turbo with a Holley Double Pumper 4-barrel, and runs no intercooler. During Friday Practice, it was capable of hitting 9.90-seconds in the Quarter Mile at 22lbs of boost! He still drives this on the street! I. Want. This. BUG! While it was capable of 9's, he had to turn back the boost to run his class legal 10.50-second quarter mile. Well, he did until the course was shortened to 1/8th mile for all classes after Saturday.

We'll start with the NSC Garrett Turbo Bug first. As described, this car is capable of turning some amazing times, especially considering that this Bug is also an IRS Rear with a Bus Transmission. Each launch, Craig was basically on the wheelie bars. I may have even witnessed it lift the rear wheels off the ground. To travel in a car this fast with such a short wheelbase and slick track had to be exciting, even if it was only for 10.5-seconds.
