On their first Qualifying run, the tree had an error and never signaled to begin timing. So, while Greg was able to pull a full run, it didn't count and he would have to rely on his second and final Qualifying run.

By round two Qualifying, the timing issues seemed to be resolved and John Scialpi in the Red Line Oil '57 Chevrolet was able to take away #1 Qualifier. His time and speed in the 1/8th Mile were 4.14 seconds at 173 mph. Not bad for a Blown 450CI Hemi Alcohol engine car!

Round 2 Greg Seth-Hunters faced off against Wade Maggio in the MagCo Drilling Chevrolet Corvette. Greg was victorious with a 4.252 ET at 170 MPH. The times kept getting slower as the track continued to get greasy and hot.

In the Semi-Finals, Greg would face #1 Qualifier, John Scialpi in his 450 CI Blown '57 Chevy. Greg and the MMR Team had been knocking down those sluggers of engines, however the times continued to get slower and the track continued to get worse.

Greg tree'd Scialpi off of the line with a great reaction time of .043 versus .078. Perfect reaction on this Compulink setup would have been .000. That meant that Greg had nearly a half car length advantage over Scialpi. That advantage would be lost as Greg shook his tires at around half track and pedalled the car to keep it under control. This lost his momentum and Scialp would take the win with an ET of 4.168 at 172 MPH. Scialpi would also win in the Finals against Joe Lepone, Jr, who was #2 Qualifier. Scialpi would also go on to clock the fastest ET of the weekend at 4.056 at 182.4 MPH.
