Here we see the new USA-made Ford Performance by Borla M-5200-M8TBV Touring Exhaust System next to the factory exhaust.
The Ford Performance mufflers are manufactured by Borla and feature a “Y” pipe that feeds all four exhaust tips in the GT350 lower valence at all times. By comparison, the GT350 utilizes an active exhaust that has a valve that closes to make the exhaust flow through more of the muffler and out of the outer tips to quiet the sound in normal mode. The valve then opens during sport mode for a more direct and louder exhaust out of the center tips.
Looking down the exhaust tip, we can see some of the internal core of the muffler and how the exhaust flows in a very shallow “Z” path through the muffler to lower the decibels of the exhaust.
Next to the factory muffler, the Ford Performance by Borla muffler is noticeably smaller, roughly 30lbs lighter, and made of high-quality 304 stainless steel.
>The Ford Performance Exhaust comes in three main pieces. This mid-section connects the X-pipe to the muffler. Note the smoother 2.25” mandrel bends compared to the more restrictive factory exhaust bends.

Great sounding cat back. But how much louder is the sport from Ford Performance? Also is the tone deeper on the Ford Performance than on the Borla?
Noticeably louder and drones more.
I have a 2017 GT PP and I have the Ford Performance power pack level 2 installed by My local dealer. Would I benefit more from the touring or sport cat back?
