Tested: KW Suspensions BMW F30 DDC Remote Adjustable Suspension

,

KW supplies all the necessary wiring. On the left is the wiring for the DDC activation controls, CAN integration, and wiring for an optional wireless unit that allows the user to control the system via the KW DDC mobile app. On the right is the main harness that will plug into each individual shock and the power and ground for the DDC system.
Four sub harnesses are supplied that go from the main harness to the shocks themselves.
To start our installation we put the F30 on the lift in the palatial MotoIQ megashop and removed the wheels.
When removing the front struts, note that on a BMW the mounts use a clamp and a pinch bolt. This is way different that the two bolts we expect on Japanese and American cars.
When removing the top hat from the struts, we used this handy tool that Howard made out of an old socket that enables you to unscrew the nut on the shock shaft while holding the shaft in place with an allen wrench.
Here is the tool, just cut a socket on a lathe and then weld the top part back on with an offset.
