With things starting to get into their places, it's time to see the route the boosted air will take on its way into the engine. Just as Tony indicated, it's a very short, simple route with a slight S-bend in the tube that leads to the throttle body.

Here, you can see the tube going from the Garrett Turbo. Straight, short, and sweet, sure to keep turbo lag to a minimum. I Can't wait to hear what numbers the engine produces when it gets to Long Beach!

Sparco, a legendary name in racing, will be Tony's choice for a steering wheel and quick release. You can also see the braided line to be used for the oil cooler lines in this picture.

Sparco makes some of the best safety equipment in the market. While they can look very expensive in the short run, the long lasting quality of a Sparco piece will save you in the long run.

For a quick moment, the turbo and manifold are removed again so that gold heat tape can be installed against the firewall. This will protect Tony from the intense heat of the turbo and will also protect the components behind the firewall. Gold heat tape is very efficient and used in high end race cars like Grand-Am, ALMS, and even oval racing.

It's important to get the length and route of the oil lines to and from the oil cooler right. So, be sure to get qualified specialists who take their jobs seriously.

Once the length and route have been chosen, the fittings can be assembled onto the lines. This can be a very tricky process and requires a special tool to install the fittings onto the lines. The ends of the braided lines can start to fray and cause many headaches as you try to get the fittings on. The special tool actually prevents the lines from fraying while making it just slightly easier to install.
