The Life of Opy: Part 2 – Building a Better Opy

,

Test fitment of the driver’s seat.
There’s not exactly an aftermarket solution for fitting race seats to a Juke, so Lars fabricated a set of mounts for Opy.
The navigator’s seat was mounted as low as possible to lower the center of gravity. The suede racing steering wheel came at a cost of free fitty by sanding down the stock leather wheel!
A panel was fabricated to replace the stock sunroof taking weight off the very top of the car having the maximum effect of lowering the CG.
To free up power, a new downpipe was fabricated with nice and smooth mandrel bends and larger diameter tubing.
Opy’s new downpipe fits nice and snugly.
