The stock tranny cooler had to go too.
Here you can see the oil and tranny coolers and the mess of lines connecting everything.
Lars fabricated a new adapter plate to attach a more appropriately sized transmission cooler.
The adapter plate attaches to this mounting point at the transmission.
To minimize engine movement, Lars fabricated this solid lower engine mount to replace the stock piece’s squishy rubber.
To meet Rally America rules for 2015, Opy got a new 34mm compressor inlet pipe Lars fabricated.As you can see, Opy has gotten a lot of love from Lars with all of the custom pieces built to make Opy better. A lot of progress has been made in converting Opy from a modified street car to a dedicated race car. The surface has just been scratched and there’s more racing to come of course!
